Dynamic support register

A list kept by local NHS services of people at risk of going into a mental health hospital, so extra support can be put in place first. Your child can only be added with consent.

Dynamic support registers are for autistic people and people with a learning disability Learning disability A health term for finding it much harder to learn and to manage everyday tasks, starting in childhood. Being on the register Child protection plan A plan drawn up when a meeting decides a child needs protecting from harm. It says what must change, who will do what, and when it will be checked. Read the full definition of Child protection plan is meant to trigger earlier, more joined-up help, with the aim of avoiding a hospital admission. It requires consent, and you can ask for your child to be added if you are worried things are heading towards a crisis.

Being on the register also connects to Care (Education) and Treatment Reviews. A parent who knows this term can ask for support before a crisis, which is exactly when it works best. This applies in England.
