What other parents say

"The Assembly programmes have given my family the tools we need to address some of the issues we face. The weekly activities are interesting and varied, and helped me to learn more about how to support my child, but can be used with the whole family.”

Brigid, mum of 8 year old.

Why self-esteem matters

Self-esteem shapes how children see themselves, handle life's challenges,

and build healthy relationships.

Healthy self-esteem is the strongest protector of your child's mental health.

When it's low, small setbacks can feel overwhelming - leading to anxiety, depression, frustration or isolation.

Signs your child may need support for self-esteem

"I'm not good enough" or frequent negative self-talk
Fear of trying new things or giving up easily
Being overly sensitive to mistakes
Withdrawing from friends or group activities
Constantly seeking reassurance from adults
Getting frustrated or upset easily when things go wrong

How is the Emotional Regulation Programme different?

Emotional regulation is the ability to manage reactions and emotions when feeling frustrated, disappointed or exuberant. Emotional regulation depends on the development of the prefrontal cortex, which takes until early adulthood, so it develops gradually through childhood and adolescence.

Our emotional regulation programme is developed by clinicians and covers key themes to help build this skill in your child covered across 6 modules. This programme is particularly useful for children where recommended parenting strategies have failed, including with confirmed or suspected neurodivergence. Your clinician will guide you through each module and tailor the exercises for your family if required. We will cover:

  • Emotional awareness, empathy and emotional regulation skills
  • Co-regulation and calming strategies
  • Agency & working collaboratively

New modules coming soon

  • Self-esteem and well-being
  • Concentration, planning and organisation
  • Sensory processing
